Teaching and Training Shooting: Using Our Talents and Resources Wisely

My family seems like we were born to shoot! An average Saturday includes some good ole fashion range time.

Every time I hear a bullet blast out of the barrel it creates a euphoric state of mind. I always say, " Goodbye stress!" It doesn't take long soon all my stress goes down range. Each from my .22 (pop) .357 (boom) to my .45 (BaaOOM) has a different sound. Each time a shoot I follow it up with a resounding laughter. See, I just can't help it! I usually hear everyone else in the range cracking up too as they get a kick out of watching me as I have so much fun firing each shot!

Not only have I found joy in shooting but I have found that I trust my weapons. I am in control of them. I know the many features of each weapon personally. It is good o know then inside and out and would not I do not like to carry them if I do not know my weapon.
I have a conceal permit in which is a must for anyone who wants to conceal carry. Check the laws for your state and any other states you want to go to with your weapon(s). Always know the laws because YOU are responsible for knowing the laws! In my state, I was required to shoot 40/50 on the acquired target. If I broke any safety violations or didn't pass the written test this was an automatic disqualification. I absolutely believe this led up to my success. I believe it has helped me to learn all the important fundamentals to teach others as well. Before getting a conceal carry permit this class should be necessity as everyone could benefit from learning the basics in proper conceal carry safety.
Now, I am teaching others they have a right to carry. I want them to do it safely. I always tell my ladies to take the class. I find however most classes are taught by men. Often when men try to teach the ladies (no offense guys), the ladies tense right up and get scared. This can be stressful on a lady trying to learn how to shoot. I try to teach that it's only scary if you let it intimidate you. I also explain it's more intimidating to see a criminal, a rapist, or someone breaking into your home with a weapon. I always start out with a big target at a close proximity and with an easy weapon like a .22.

Most of the time I am teaching ladies, in which I have had a 100% success rate. So far my experience has been my ladies all have been able to hit their acquired target and achieve and to achieve their goals of protecting themselves. Also, their husbands are now standing proud! I always teach safety first. Most of my ladies are working on their conceal weapons permits and some have even made first or even second weapons purchases! In our church and community several of the ladies go to the range with me. Throughout he area I maybe come known as the next Annie Oakley, well maybe not but at least I know I will keep letting ladies know you have 2nd amendment rights and then bringing then to the range and training ladies to be gun enthusiasts like me!
